Hello Sam,
I wanted to ask if you can provide me with an XML file from your wordpress site? This would be the most accurate way to migrate all of the information from your current site. From your wordpress dashboard it would be under “Tools” > “Export” > “All Content” then clicking the download export file, which you could then send as an attachment.
Please, let me know if you were able to access this!

I will try to find that and let you know.

Hi Charles,
I told our staff about the need to backup emails before switching our hosting and a question came up. Will email contacts transfer over? Or do we need to make sure to write all of our contacts down beforehand?
Thanks, Sam

Hello Sam,
Regarding the emails, I spoke to my supervisor about this and she had mentioned that maybe forgoing the site transfer as well as moving emails may not be the best option, as the process for moving/backing up and reconfiguring emails is very time-consuming and usually requires an IT person to integrate the emails into a management system like thunderbird or outlook on your end. We do charge $5 a month for each email account that we create and host for you (so an additional $35/m for 7 emails, added to the monthly fee – the first email we provide free of charge). So if it was a decision based on trying to consolidate the expenses for you, we thought it would be more cost-effective for you to keep your domain and email hosting as is. That way your older emails will still be accessible, you wont have to hire an IT person or pay the email hosting fees.
But yes, if we do choose to proceed with transferring the domain and setting up emails, you would have to save your contacts as well and reinput them.
