Happy Friday! My apologies for the delayed response as I have been out with the flu.

I cross-referenced the content that has been added with the articles in your Google drive and all are on the site, just not linked. Before I proceed with reorganizing the Services & Procedures page and linking the articles, I would like to suggest a few options:
Instead of listing all bullet points on one page, we could have a button for each “area of specialization”. Then, you will be able to click to that specific page with a full list of procedures.

We could create a drop-down menu for all areas of specialization. Once you click on each drop-down menu, it will take you to the separate pages with all procedures listed (depending on that category).
My suggestion would be to go with option #1 as it would be the most visually appealing. I hope this wasn’t confusing! Let me know a good time to call you on Monday so we can discuss.

Hello Jan,
I did receive your email but have been out of the office due to the Christmas Holiday. I will schedule a phone call with you for next week. It has been scheduled for Tuesday at 10:00 am.

In the meantime, here are a few comments after reviewing the latest revisions.

1. The new Logo has not yet been added to the website as we discussed. The folder with the new logo is in Google Drive. All file types are available for you to choose from.

2. Custom Content- I see that you did add the two pages, there will need to be some editing on these as some of the content is inaccurate or not applicable.

3. Disclaimer- this page was added, but only said, ‘coming soon…’. I added a couple sentences here for a disclaimer, but it can be reviewed and edited further.

4. I was able to locate the gastroenterology content that was added. In Google Drive there is a page for Patient Education with the list of all topics provided (I think by Justin) with links already available from Optimized360. There are still topics that have not yet been added. Please look over this list to add the additional pages.
I did remove 2 pages that were posted to the website as they did not pertain to our Practice.

In reviewing the Surgery websites in Optimized360 gallery, I see many other topics that pertain to general surgery that are on these sites and would work well for my website. Is any of this content available to use or is it all custom content written and added by the businesses making it not available?

5. The Patient Education Page on the website still only has information about GERD on it. This page needs to be revised and the GERD information should be it’s own post/page. Also, there is a page titled Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) Therapy. This page should be included as a patient education page/post.

I would like to discuss with you how/what all the patient education posts will be linked to and what this page will really look like. If any of this information can be linked before our next phone call, it would be very helpful.

I do look forward to getting this website up and running as soon as possible.

Here is the feedback for this design.

As we had discussed with the #4 design drafts, I asked to have the sections separated. Meaning the white background behind the 4 Feature boxes as in 4.1 & 4.2.

Maybe to explain that better it would be:

– The top half of 4.1
– The bottom half of 4.2
– The design feature in 4.3 on the banner with the horizontal slogan.

Also, I liked the sidebar box that is now the ‘What’s New’ box as it was before with a white background and the title area of it in green.

As I said in the other email today, I scheduled a call for 1:30 pm. I’ll talk to you then.

I really like the overlay design feature that you added to the banner. I also really like the slogan in #3 as a horizontal line instead of a box over the image.

Overall, I like the design, boxes in blue with just a hint of the green, blue background, and the sections separated in #1 and the banner with the opaque overlay & horizontal slogan in #3.

I like the addition of the sidebar allowing the option to feature more things and to even add more sections as needed.

The appointment box in the sidebar needs to be turned into something else, maybe just left as an option to change occasionally to things like “What’s New”, “Upcoming Events”, “In the Community” etc.

We are making progress! I hope my comments make sense.

“I think that #2.3 is the winner. The blue it that one is not too dark and not too light! This is more like it, but with the slogan text box on the left side.– (reminder that we will not be having a make an appointment button.)

It was very helpful to see what some of our images would look like and I still think it would be nice to have a slideshow of 3-4 of those images. I do have other images we could use. And again, this is something that I would periodically like to change and hope that I will have the ability to do so.
I did look at Shutterstock for local landscape images and didn’t really see many that jumped out at me. I have found more than I like from a few local photographers.

A couple of reminders from my last email:

The overall color ended up being a little too subdued. I think it’s mostly the blue.
I can see that you took the concept from drmooso.com, The gray with a little green looks good on that site, but the slate blue on our design is a little bland.

Now that I have seen it again, I have decided that the -parallax scroll effect/underlay image is too busy and distracting. I do like the layout of that design and the mountain as a shadow behind the top banner area, but it’s not necessary.

The image of a mountain behind the bottom section might work, I’d like it to; but it will depend on what the final colors are to see if it will look good.

I do like the hand drawn graphics for the featured services.

The caduceus being used in place of the letter ‘T’ is too large for it to look like a ‘T’., But I do think that this simple design could be just fine for a logo! We are still working on a logo, and I do remember you saying that you would get me a quote for a logo design.

Here are two sites that I think are closer to what we are looking for:

01.) jonathanstillmd.com
The blue color here is more prominent and a good neutral. The overall colors work well together. I also do like the curve in the banner as a little unique element. The other pages have a smaller horizontal banner, which is just fine.
I also like the sidebar boxes that stand out and the gradient blue tones in them.

02.) gastroassoc.org
The layout of this site works well. The banner is a bit smaller so the navigation bar can still be seen without having to scroll down. The colors here, again, stand out more and show definite section separation. Although the colors in jonathanstill are probably the best. This site also has a side bar for quick access to info on each page.

I also like the defined boxes at the bottom as opposed to having all the topics appear as one section.

A few more notes-
We would prefer to use natural landscape images, our own if possible, in the banner and not models/people. Probably a slideshow of 3 – 4 images.

I realize you asked me to only look at the design & colors, but a couple things I noticed:

— We will not be having a make an appointment button or schedule an appointment section.
— We do not want to feature RFA, that needs to be removed as a page on the navigation bar.
–There really isn’t much info from the old site that is accurate or up to date. It would really be helpful to see the current info up in the design to help get a good overall picture with the new areas of focus. We are still updating information and patient forms into the google drive folder.

Tami spoke with Jan for the design process – she was starting to stress out because of the library sent (which I don’t think she went through all of it because based on what Jan said, she has a lot on her plate) only 2 services of Gastro pertained to her – she mentioned that she does do Vascular Surgery and Thoracic Surgery – I told her I know we have content for those specialties – she brought up Florida Surgical and how they have a lot of content as well which she liked or is similar to what she does – told her to not worry

She was upset because she was told we can only create 5 custom pages for her so she felt limited and has this idea she would be charged more – I assured her to no worry – reiterated we do have content for other specialties and surgeries (vascular and thoracic)

Told her that she should just send me the services that she provides, and I will tell her what we have content for and what we do not have content for – anything we do not have content for I will talk to our CD (Belinda) to see what we can do other than the 5

She felt more at ease and SHE UNDERSTANDS AND DOES NOT EXPECT to have content for ALL of her services. She just wants more than what she saw (2) – which alarmed her.

She was panicking because of the additional charges, lack of content, and her tasks for this project as well.

She will email me and cc Jan regarding the services they provide for us to cross-reference

Since they are a General Surgeon and we do not have that many General Surgeon websites – we can work something out for them to have for future same specialties.

Tami believes that she was misquoted in regards to content. I have provided her a link to our content library and explained that she gets 5 additional custom pages of her choice. She feels like that is definitely not enough for their practice.
