I hope you’re having a great week! I was able to sit down with Dr. McLain and he had a couple of requests for the website.

1) We have had a change in our staff. Stacey is no longer with our office, so we need to remove her photo and bio. I have attached a photo and the bio for our new hygienist, Alyssa.
2) Services page: when you click on the service it takes you to the description, however from that page there are links at the bottom that skip over to articles-not services. These should link to the “next service” or “previous service.”
If this cannot be resolved, just remove those links.
3) We also need to add Invisalign to our services page, as this is a service that we are currently offering in our practice.
4) On the testimonials page- at the bottom of the page the link for “Read more reviews” just refreshes the page with the same reviews. Is there any way for the reviews to alternate, so that it’s not always the same reviews showing? Or even link that to our Google reviews page?
5) Add the logo to the top of the “Contact Us” Page
6) Lastly, adding headings to the articles on the “Articles page”-basically what we did on the services page.

I realize these changes will take time, and I don’t expect it to happen overnight. But I did want to go ahead and get these submitted.

I received an email indicating the changes had been made …I appreciate you getting those corrections taken care of.

I just had a couple more thoughts after looking it over this weekend. I see that “Welcome to Downing Street Dental” has been moved up, but can we take his photo off the header(not sure header is the correct term) at the top? When you click the side arrows it just brings his photo back. Possibly replace his photo with the office logo? And just remove the arrows since at this time we do not have any other images to scroll through.

I have also realized that there are a few “service descriptions” as well as the “About Dr. McLain” that are showing up on the homepage. I think this may have been what Dr. McLain was referring to when he said “broken links.”

We had a staff meeting yesterday and he was not thrilled with the overall look of the website…he mentioned there were some “broken links”? I went through and was unable to find any broken links, but these are a couple of things I did notice…
1) Remove the “Promotions” page-as we typically don’t run specials.
2) Our office hours on Thursday are 7-2 PM not 5:00
3) On the homepage-is there any way we can move up the “Welcome to Downing Street Dental” to the top of page instead of halfway down? His image just repeats on the homepage…

I know we just migrated everything over from the other site, but what can we do about making it a little more appealing without completely re-doing the site?

I was just removing all of our services today and had a quick look at the new site. Here are a few things you need to address with your new service provider if search rank is important for you. In other words, if it’s important for you to show up for keywords like “Dentist” on Google.

To be clear, I’m not telling you this to win your business back. I’m actually completely booked. I hope this is helpful for you moving forward and I wish you the best.

Duplicate Content Can Hurt your search rank
Your new website is publishing content that is syndicated across hundreds of sites. It’s duplicative and it’s not referencing the original sources correctly. This can have a negative impact on your rankings on Google either directly, or by simply not providing positive value. It’s one of the key things we avoided and why we spent as much time as we did to ensure you had original content.

WordPress is the most hacked content management system by virtue of the fact that it’s the most used. At the very least you should change the default login address to remove the temtation from hackers. I would also ask about what other security measures are in place.

Your old site with us was secure and now that it’s not secure, Google will see a lot of broken inbound links and has to completely re-crawl and re-index your site. You’re basically losing all
of the equity you’ve built in search rank over the past 2 years. It’s an easy fix that I highlighted with your new company before the move, but apparently it wasn’t addressed.

Site with current guy will go offline on Aug 1st. Ashely will be out of the office from 7/22-7/31 (monday). Day before Site goes down.
Ashley understands that this is the best route since Paul at the other company is making it difficult giving us what we need. This is main reason why she wants to cut ties.
Told Ashley we will do our best to get something by Friday and go live before she leaves for vacation all of next week.

– grab images from live site, adjust colors so it is similar to logo and current site too. Use the photos throughout site to personalize on the templates.

– download a copy of the current site in the meantime so we have content and images in the future if she needs to personalize the site.

Belinda, can you take a look at this site to host.

They own the entire site (design/content). Can you see whats the best route as far as redeveloping or migrating the files. It looks like a straigth-forward design?

They have access to their GoDaddy account and the current company will be shutting the site down on Aug 1st. Told her that we can put a temp site up in meantime due to the short-notice and we can not guarantee it will be migrated/hosted in time. LMK

Called, spoke to Ashley who filled out the form. Very nice.

She is new to the practice and is looking for a new company to manage their current site. Not looking to redevelop. She s not sure if they own it cause I asked.

was quoted by others for about $500 to migrate. Told her she check if they do and if they do then we can. She asked the alternative if they don’t own it which she will find out from the dr, Quoted her $4k and higher depending on features.

Current site has httpS which she agreed with me that it didn’t need to and it was prob extra cost they threw in there at the time dr signed up. Site is very simple with no portal or payments or confidential field submission.

She said she saw we had a lot of good reviews hence why she inquired. Extremely nice. Asked for my #. Will talk to dr to figure out the ownership. Sent email with the 2 options for now.
