Spoke to Scott. (Dr Sarah Boostrom Husband) Had questions regarding Dr’s AdWords campaign and SEO performance. Questions regarding campaign itself and requested to change the radius location of the campaign to at least 20 miles versus 2 miles. Explained to him the reason why we keep it a shorter radius given the budget and cost per click plus to give more attention to the potential local patients. Wanted some data provided for him on both Adwords and SEO. Told him I would go and generate a seo Dashboard for the Google analytics of website.

He had questions regarding why the website isnt showing up on the top of first page. Explained to him because Dr. has many previous websites with her name as an authority so they are spread out amongst all of them. not to mention the website we built is still fairly new so it won’t rank versus her old websites or review sites that have been live for a while.

Also spoke to Dr. Sarah Boostroom- she had the same similar questions and concerns that her husband had. Reassured her that I answered all her of her husbands questions in regards to the website, SEO, PPC and adding social media and blogging to the website to gain start gaining organic traffic on the SEO side of things. Informed her that there must have been some sort of mis-communication when it came to Monica trying to deliver to her information regarding the website and Marketing for the practice. Established that moving forward I will be dealing with Scott and CC Dr in all emails. Dr Sarah said that getting her husband involved should be an easier process because he knows more on the marketing end. Sending them FU email for the next plan of action and will CC both of them on there.

moving forward we now have a plan of action to help improve SEO on the website
– Adding Social Media Channels to the website
– Adding Custom Blogs with content on there

Jess had sent over email to Scott to get the logins and passwords for their social media as well as content for their blog on the website.

He also was wondering where the $99mo charge was coming from as I looked into it – adwords management fee.

Logo: good stuff! The consensus is a strong vote for the last one. Working with the last one, could you try the following mock-ups:
1. Increase the font size of “Surgical Consultants of North Texas” – something closer to “Colon and Rectal”
2. I think I mentioned last time making the star dark blue and the ribbon the traditional color of the colon cancer ribbon – could you please fashion this?
a. Dark blue
b. Dark blue crescent
c. Bright blue ribbon
3. Adjust the perspective and size on the crescent. The crescent should act like the floor on which the star sits, and it should not interfere/compete with the text
4. Please see the rudimentary option below to play with – it shows a more official “Texas Star”, more prominent ribbon, and deconflicts the text vs. images if that makes sense. The ribbon is too large but I imagine you get the gist.

So, to be clear, could you try a mock-up of 1-3 above and then a separate mock-up with same color scheme of 4? I will start sending you content this week and book an appointment on Friday to discuss where we are. I know photos are supposed to happen this Wednesday but I am not sure when they will be ready for posting.

Process

1. You will receive an initial five concepts to start with. We can mix and match designs! At this point, try to focus on shapes and fonts rather than color.
2. Revisions: You will get approximately to 5 rounds of revisions. Let us know what suites you and what does not, don’t worry, we’ll try our best to get them as close as possible!
3. Approval: After the logo is approved, we’ll send you a set of files that can be used with any print shop or graphic designer. We’ll also add it to the website.

This is SO much better and we are really getting close – love the inversion of the wave and the overall flow – thank you! With respect to colors, I still think we need a little more “umph” and generally, there needs to be more contrast between colors and text to make things easier to read.

I appreciate your taking my note about eradicating “Miami Vice” from the palette. Can we now try something a little darker or less muted/muddled? If you just want to send a few color swatches, I can use my imagination.

Seriously, this is well on target – nicely done. Once we get the colors nailed down, we can tweak a little bit of the language and then we will have it. 🙂

Thank you for your work on this – I very much appreciate some of the improvements and placeholders!

Would it be possible to do the following based on our last discussion (I know you were only testing the wave mock-up with this draft):
· Move the call to action buttons above the navigation bar (like the children’s dentist example)

· Flip the wave so that there is a hard line at the top where the navigation area is with the wave at the bottom that softly leads to the next section

· Remove the photo of the older couple and replace it with an abstract image (focused on soothing blues, possibly nature) or a photo with 40ish year old people. While Dr. Boostroom’s patients are older, we don’t want to impose the impression that these issues are “old people problems”. We want to present an uplifting “get back to active living with family” notion (your picture had the right attitude -we just need a more vibrant different demographic) – make sense?

· Please make the navigation area stronger in terms of bold, larger font, etc.

· I like the “Call Us”– please move this to the far right

· Please remove the appointment info button (Dr. B doesn’t do online scheduling and this would just prove irritating to users)

· We can work on the “Meet Dr. B” section next – this is a good direction though.

All in all, much improved! I look forward to the next draft.

I have sent examples to Monica to get a good understanding of what type of design she would like. We will discuss her feedback once she has time to review.

Spoke to Monica, extremely nice, was just wondering what was Jessica’s experience, how long she’s been working here and how many projects she has had.

Monica wasn’t complaining about the design but just wanted to point out that it seems the draft was just “black/white”, doing things based on what she ask but hasn’t added any creativity.

Design concept does seem bland from my perspective and looks quite basic (maybe this is what monica/dr boostrom requested) but not sure based on the interview with Jessica.

Overall, she understands its only 1 round of feedbacks but is looking forward to continue working with Jessica.

Jessica, this is just a heads up if you can be a bit more proactive next time you talk to her, give her suggestions (which she is totally open to and would like you to voice your opinion and/or add your “creativity” to spruce up the design look).
