A rhytidectomy or “facelift” is performed to address the decent of the both skin and soft tissue of the lower face.

Often times fat grafting (to address volume loss with age) and a peel (to address the skin blemishes) are performed simultaneously to provide complete treatment.

The facelift procedure is performed under general anesthesia (with the patient safely asleep) and includes removal of excess skin and tightening of the previous laxity in the underlying muscle layer.

This is an elective procedure with a return to most normal activities within one week and more strenuous activity at 3 weeks.
