M Braces

Daniel has requested new structure for website according to doctors new business plan. Basically putting three businesses into one website, utilizing the design we’ve created for M Braces. The details of the plan is laid out below.

I spoke to him this morning that we have refunded and doctor is not a client of ours anymore. We have the files for him to take but to continue, we’d have to draw up new proposals that would include reactivation and hourly costs for the changes he’s outlined. COnfirmed that we have to set realistic expectations for doctor to have consistent reactions instead of going in circles. Mentioned that Brent and I will be handling the account and Justin will no longer be involved. Daniel’s aware that Brent is the marketing manager and I am technical contact.

Brent will need to send him a contract based on our new packages, sign on fee and hourly for changes to the theme.

1. Business Updates: Doctors decided to made a few strategic changes in their websites with recent business updates.
Doctors decided to use one domain which will be existing mdentalgroup.com domain to include all their businesses and services
I have attached an image for you to understand better about the structure. Basically there will be three businesses; M Dental, M Braces, and Dental Starship M. Dental Starship M will be new business which will be launched in 2018 Mar for children’s Dentistry.
Each business will have focus area which you can find in attached image
This means we are not using Mymbraces.com domain anymore and we will redesign current mdentalgroup.com with design that your team created for MBraces for single homepage.
2. Design
Doctors would like to fully leverage what your team created to minimize any extra work and launch the site as soon as possible
So we will use what we developed for MBraces with some tweaks to be relevant to new business structure.
3. Home Page Structure and Contents
I have attached an image that will give you a suggested structure for new Home Page.
To save time, let’s use what we created for MBraces at top section which has video and location map.
For second section, Again, let’s use what we created for MBraces. With current “Coming Soon” message, I could not check current site but we can tweak this section later
In Services section, we can include three businesses with relevant icons. Each business intro should have “learn more” button to link each business page.
For reviews page, let’s pick current top 3 testimonial reviews and include “learn more” button
In Gallery Section, let’s have one for Dental Office Photo Gallery and the other for Smile Gallery.
Last section could be Contact with location and contact information with any social media icons or links
4. Pages that link to Home Page
I have attached an image for this as well but think we could have these pages that will be linked to the home page. We already have most of these pages. For M Dental Page, we can leverage contents in current mdentalgroup.com and for Dental Starship M, we can create placeholder page with a note saying it will be available in 2018.

I talked to Jessica today and both Daniel and I felt that we had a very hard time communicating with Jessica.
I had to repeat myself 7 times in order to make her understand what I want.
What is her position? Is there anyone else in your company who can do a better communication with clients?
You also mentioned to us that your company would design the website to the full satisfaction of the client and your team are willing to present multiple design drafts as needed to meet our satisfaction.
However, when Daniel talked to Jessica, she mentioned that there will be only one chance to choose the footage and paste it on the website. Does Jessica understand the philosophy of your company or did you tell us something that your designer would not normally do?
Lets make sure your designer understand the scope of the work.

Spoke with Daniel, he was under the impression that http://mymbraces.com/ will be converted into a marketing landing page once the MBraces is live. I explained to him that it is a temporary site that we provided because the doctors wished to have a site up as soon as possible. Furthermore, they do not have a custom landing page design available in his package. Please follow-up.

Clients did not want to work with Jan due to previous “incorrect work.” Asked Justin to verify what was the reason.

Jessica is now taking over and has reached out to Daniel (and both doctors) and mentioned everyone has to grant the okay to move forward in any steps. The plan is to have clients select photos for the design. We will not be adjusting layout as they were already approved.

Drs. Paul & Janet Kim are both very nice. They know exactly what they want but sometimes may have a hard time communicating exactly what it is that they want. Also, they are very fixated on https://sassiholford.com/. Here are some notes from my conversations with them:

-Focus on fixing the design for M BRACES FIRST since it is already developed (discuss with Belinda beforehand).

-M BRACES is for Dr. Janet

-M DENTAL is for Dr. Paul

-Design for M DENTAL will be a DUPLICATE DESIGN of M BRACES.

-In the beginning, they were very responsive. However, recently we had not heard from them for a few weeks. Continually follow-up if they do not respond and NOTE EVERYTHING IN CP.

-Sidekick all emails to them from here on out and note in CP if they opened it.

-Their best availability is Wednesday.

-Be very confident when talking to them and if you notice something that will not work or look good with the design, tell them. And be 100% confident in your advice/suggestions. Again, they know what they want but YOU are the expert.

-I already advised them that their website will not look/feel exactly the same as https://sassiholford.com/, simply because that is a WEDDING website. They will push for this. However, I pointed out to them 2 main differences that we could change to get it closer to looking the same…

1. COLORS (easy change to all white)
2. PHOTOS (clarify with them if they want LITERALLY photos of brides smiling; if not, we will do our best to find other elegant images but still won’t be the same.)

-Videos: they are also fixated on having video footage for the hero section on the homepage. Please refer to Justin’s email regarding this. They will be choosing the video.

-STAY ORGANIZED. Drs. tended to get very side-tracked based on the conversations/emails I’ve had with them. Organization is key when speaking with them. Make sure they listen to you and reassure them that your method will get them the website they want in a timely manner.

with Dr. Paul:

Called Dr. Paul to discuss the design for M Dental. I told him that to my understanding, the design for M Dental was supposed to be a duplicate of the design for M Braces (with moderations). He agreed. Then he began to discuss how both Drs. do not like the design for M Braces because it doesn’t look like the wedding website https://sassiholford.com/. I told him that Dr. Janet approved of the design and seemed to love it. He said no, it’s not what they want.

I began to explain the differences of the wedding website and the design we gave them.

1. COLORS – The wedding website is predominantly white, but Dr. Janet had specifically requested colors that were added to the design.

2. PHOTOGRAPHY – Wedding photos and dental photos are very different. I explained that the photos used on the design for M Braces have more color and the subjects are different compared to the photos used on the wedding website.

While these are things we can definitely change, it will still not give the same “feel” and “look” as the wedding website. I told him that the layout is very much similar, but overall it won’t be exactly the same.

We also discussed the video/footage that they wanted on their website. I sent both Drs. a list of 10 videos (Shutterstock) that I feel matched their description. They did not like any of them. I clarified many times that we can add video footage in at a later time and use an image as a placeholder in the meantime. They never said if they wanted footage of brides, just beautiful women smiling.

Dr. Paul requested to work with another designer. I told him I respected his decision and I would discuss with Justin and my supervisor. I also told him that when it comes to designing your website to match exactly the same as the wedding website, it will not look exactly the same because https://sassiholford.com/ is a WEDDING website and their website is for DENTAL; any designer would tell him the same thing.

*We did not discuss the design for M Dental because it will be a duplicate of M Braces and they do not like the design for M Braces anyways.

It appears the Drs. have opened my email regarding both websites. Have not heard back from them but will call.
