My name is Jordon Ashe, I had the Bankart procedure performed last year and I recently had the Laterjet procedure done by Dr. Haggerty after the Bankart failed. In my experience the Bankart procedure was less painful in the first month than the Laterjet, however; my range of motion was less than half of what I experienced with the Laterjet. I would recommend the Laterjet because the recovery time is much less and I feel that it is a stronger repair. I fell just once on ice and I dislocated my shoulder once again after the Bankart and I was back to square one. The Laterjet seems to be much more stable of a procedure and I would recommend it to anyone.

My name is Marty Green and am 53 years old. I am writing this because
my recent surgery with Dr. Haggerty was nothing short of miraculous. It was my
seventh surgery on my left shoulder. Dr haggerty came highly recommended by my
physical therapist, so I followed her advice and am very glad I did. While
everyone else was terrified by the condition my shoulder, Dr. Haggerty was not
and was confident he could fix it. He listened to me with true concern and
immediately started the process to getting me better. Not only was the surgery a
complete success, but the healing is amazing, it is almost like I didn’t have
surgery at all!! Very little if any swelling and one tiny little bruse!! I just
wish Dr. Haggerty would have been around to do my other surgeries,I am sure that
it wouldn’t have taken so many to get it right. I would highly recommend Dr.

friendly and are very good at what they do as well

I met with Dr. Montano after my primary physician informed me based on X-rays that I may need a hip replacement. My first visit inspired great confidence in Dr. Montano and his staff and I have been impressed and encouraged since. Dr. Montano was conservative in presenting treatment options and left follow-up visits and treatment options up to me. With my hip situation deteriorating, I decided to have a total replacement and I have not been disappointed. The surgery went well, post-op has been uneventful and physical therapy is going well. The results so far have exceeded my expectations as I have been mostly pain free after 2 weeks and it appears that I am ahead of schedule with rehabilitation. My thanks to Dr. Montano and the staff at Pioneer Peak Orthopedic. I would not hesitate to use their services again and I would highly recommend them to anyone else.

I saw Dr. Montano for a right hip replacement. I am pleased to say that I left the hospital the first day post-op, because I was feeling so good. Dr. Montano is very well educated in his field of orthopedics, but most of all, Dr. Montano is personable. He cares about his patients. He is easily approached with questions, concerns, and he listens very well. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing orthopedic surgery. I recently had a total hip replacement surgery with Dr Montano. I am so happy to share the great experience that I’ve had. I am so delighted with the surgery that Dr. Montano performed on my total hip replacement. I went from being in excruciating pain every day, to pain-free within two weeks after surgery. Dr. Montano has wonderful bedside manners. He is sensitive, caring and knowledgeable. He is an incredible doctor!!!! I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a total hip replacement.

Dr. Gregory Strohmeyer is an orthopaedic surgeon who was born and raised in Palmer, Alaska. He is the Matanuska Susitna Valley’s only specialty trained fracture surgeon. After graduating from Colony High School where he was a four-year varsity letter hockey player, Dr. Strohmeyer attended Montana State University where he studied biochemistry and graduated with high honors. He then attended Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois for medical school. Following medical school, Dr. Strohmeyer completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he received a broad education in orthopaedic surgery. After residency, due to his interest in broken bones, he pursued an additional year of training in orthopaedic trauma with the Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeons of Northern California in Roseville, California. During his fellowship year, Dr. Strohmeyer studied the most up to date techniques for treatment of complex fractures in the upper and the lower extremities, as well as the pelvis and acetabulum. He gained experience treating post- traumatic complications including non-unions (where the bone doesn’t heal), malunions (where the bones heal in an abnormal position), post-operative infections, and post traumatic arthritis. His fellowship also gave him expertise in hip arthroplasty surgery, including the direct anterior approach for total hip replacement, as well as exposure to revision total hip arthroplasty. In addition to treating fractures, Dr. Strohmeyer interests include total knee replacement, shoulder and knee arthroscopy, foot and ankle surgery, pediatric orthopaedics, and hand surgery. Throughout Dr. Strohmeyer’s education, he has been active in research and has been published in multiple journals including Orthopaedic Knowledge Online Journal, Foot and Ankle International, Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics, and the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery.

Dr. Strohmeyer is excited to be home in Palmer and is accompanied by his wife Cindy, who was also
raised in the Mat-Su Valley. They are joined by their two sons Carter and Andy. When not practicing medicine, Dr. Strohmeyer enjoys hunting, fishing, flying, backcountry snowmachining, playing hockey, snowboarding, and mountain biking. He is eager to have the opportunity to return home and serve the community he was raised in.
