Client has had a bad experience from start to finish but has been patient with it. He has disputed all charges on his current credit card. Mentioned to him that I don’t have access to accounting but would like to address his concerns and resolve it. Not sure if he’s going to remove the disputes. See main concerns below:
1) Hosting Charges: doesn’t understand why he was getting monthly charges when the website was not done. “Danny promised he would refund charges” but that did not happen. Explained to him what monthly charges were, that it could go on for 2 years that a website isn’t live, BUT the website is still sitting on server and still costing us. During this time, there are still changes to be made onto website whether its live or not. He understood but did not agree.
2. Hosting Charge Confusion: $59 vs. $79. $79 is supposed to include snapappointments.com costs but it looks like we told him that there would be additional costs. I told him, the charges can either be with us, or billed separately by him entering in his CC info at snapappointments.com. He prefers that it’s included in our monthly costs so that its in one place. From his understanding, $79 is including snapappointments.com cost.
3. Website Process: “nothing is done.” Explained his old pages have literally code attached to every letter, so it does take time for it to be removed. It seems like, we have finished removing the bulk of the code. Asked what else is there that he’s concerned about.
Concerned that the tables/divs are crooked because when zoomed in on browser, the line has a break. Conveyed to him that its not humanly possible for it to be crooked because its coded by computer. Now, when zooming in, the BROWSER renders it differently and that’s something out of our control. Got really technical in the explanation that I cannot fix this because it’s a browser setting. Zoom is an added feature for people to read. If its not at 100% then you will not see design at its full potential and there is no way to code the site for “zoomed” looks, thats not how it works. He kind of gets it, and is trusting my opinion “expertise” on this.
4. Logo: the logo is old, distorted. Explained that its his logo that we pulled from his previous website. We don’t recreate it as it will not look exactly the same. I can recreate but will look similar and he cannot complain about the fonts being different, but at least the lines will be clear. He sent EPS but it’s still rasterized. Will place the one he sent and if he doesn’t like, we’ll recreate.
5. HIPAA: concerns with HIPAA. Explained that these are third party companies, they claim to be hippa compliant but we cannot control that. He would have to contact them. Mentioned our previous clients had good feedback regarding it.
Overall, he was happy that he’s had this conversation with me (he’s really technical) but hopes that I will be the last person he’s spoken to as he went through 5 others. He still has concerns with HIPAA, suggested that we create it, he reviews with his attorneys, then make decision to keep it or not.
Stop all work note. Closing ticket.
