I’ve finally found my doctor for life, and her name is Jessica Cho. 🙂

I found Dr. Cho a few months ago when I was searching for a holistic MD, someone who had knowledge of, and practiced, both western and holistic medicine. I hadn’t seen a doctor in years (Dr. Cho was a little shocked to hear just how many years), but truth be told, I didn’t need to. I was never one of those to run to the doctor at the slightest onset of the cold, etc. When I developed costochondritis from a particularly bad bout with the coughs, I came to the diagnosis myself after some research (but did acquiesce to my mother to go to urgent care to get a professional opinion, only to get confirmation that it was, indeed, costochondritis and it would go away with time). I just never believed in going to the doctor for every physical discomfort or ailment when ultimately, all they would do is give you some prescription for your symptoms and send you on your merry way.

But as we get older, it is absolutely vital to find the right doctor, not to look up to and revere as the all knowing authority over your health, but to serve as your partner in health. I suppose it really depends on your personal philosophy towards health and wellness – if it is similar to mine, and you believe in being proactive with your health and not reactive, then you should absolutely be going to a holistic doctor too, and I cannot recommend Dr. Cho enough for that. She is so incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, empathetic and warm. I didn’t feel like I was at the doctor’s office at all, but was spending time with a friend. I got the Executive Physical package, and sure enough, when we went over all my blood test results, I was stoked to hear that I was one of the healthiest patients she’s had. She gave me some great recommendations, one of which was a supplement for heavy metal detoxification that I hadn’t considered, but have now incorporated into my daily regimen.

I have been seeing Dr. Zhai for three months for my stress and back problems. She uses accupuncture and cupping to help me relieve tension in my back and stress throughout my entire body. You can not get a better, more empathic, more knowledgeable doctor than Doctor Cho. She blends Eastern & Western medicine for what I believe is double the care. I have been a patient of Dr. Cho’s for 9 years. She is one of the smartest doctors I have ever gone to. She always knows what is going on when I have a symptom or an issue, and if she doesn’t know she finds out! She takes time to explain what is happening with the body — how it works and why things happen. This is wonderful. I feel like then I truly understand and can deal with whatever the issue is.
I moved to La Habra 2 years ago — which makes getting to Dr. Cho’s office very challenging and can take over 2 hours….but you know what? It is worth it to me for the care that I receive there.

Dr asked to remove monthly since she does not make much changes. I explained to her how her monthly fees work which is for hosting and maintenance. Gave her the analogy of how cell phones work which needs a provider. How many phone calls made in/out depends on the user so monthly fees are there regardless if you want to keep phone line active. Brought it to her attention we had waived her 2015 monthly fees since she ordered last June (6 months waived). She only started getting charged last month.

Extremely dedicated doctor who is genuinely interested in her patients’ health issues and finding a way to address all issues. She uses natural methods of therapy in conjunction with pharmaceuticals in order to effect an optimal result for the patient. This is something that I am most impressed with Dr. Cho.
